'Festa do Banho' (29 August)
Please note that each year on 29 August Lagos celebrates the traditional 'Festa do Banho', which includes historical recreations, food and drinks, traditional swimwear parades and lots of musical entertainment.
This is a great way to experience the local culture.
The location for this event is usually on the beach directly opposite the block where this apartment is situated - which means that you will have a great view of the party and will be able to experience the wonderful atmosphere - but keep in mind that there will be loud music from the party.
The 'Festa do Banho' takes place on 1 night only (29 August).
However, other events may take place before that date.
Please take this into consideration if you are intending to stay in this apartment at the end of August.

During 2025 there may be some minor maintenance works taking place around the common areas of the building where this apartment is located.

The location is exceptional and the morning sunrises great you over the ocean. Access to the old town, the market and the beach is ideal.

The water temperature in the shower is often difficult to register and the door to the balcony is cumbersome to operate. A sliding door would be so much simpler.

Wonderful Accommodation and location.

The apartment is located right beside the castle walls and you're inside the old town within two minutes of leaving the apartment. There is an allocated parking spot in the underground area with a lift straight to the first floor apartment which has everything your heart could desire. A fully equipped kitchen, lovely settee and chaise long, dining table and two chairs, huge bed, safe, loads of wardrobe space and drawers, and fabulous bathroom with bidet. The towels are changed twice a week and bedlinen weekly. The apartment is spotless. Great TV with lots of channels to choose from. But the best thing about the apartment is the view over the beach. There is a table and chairs on the spacious balcony where you can watch the boats coming in and out of the harbour and the kayaks going out on their adventures to Pont da Piedade. There are dog walkers and people going to and from the beach and town too. It's a beautiful balcony with a fantastic view. What more could you ask for.

There is nothing to improve upon I don't think. How can you perfect perfection.

This apartment has a great location, a few minutes walk from all the shops and restaurants. There are two mini markets close by and a bigger hyper market a bit further walk away.

You can get to the beach in moments, along with access to all the kayak tours and a lovely little beach bar.

There’s all the equipment you need in this apartment to be able to cook for yourself if that’s what you prefer to do. There was also a supply of washing tablets, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid to get you started off. The welcome pack was lovely too.

It was lovely to watch the sunrise each morning from the balcony.

The team at Destination Algarve are fantastic and the service they provide is outstanding, nothing is too much and they will help in any way they can.

There’s only one thing I would like and I don’t think you can do anything about this…I’d love these apartments to have a pool on the roof!

A lovely apartment

The apartment is built and finished to a very high standard. It has everything you need for a perfect self catering holiday.

The location is perfect, right across the road from the beach and only a 5 minute walk to the centre of the old town. The apartment has a large, secure underground carpark too.

The booking and checking in process were extremely easy, with excellent communication from the company throughout.

This apartment would have gotten an easy 5 stars if it wasn't for the bed, which was terrible.

It's not that it was too hard or too soft, it was just old, of terrible quality and very uncomfortable. It comprised of two old single mattresses which were full of broken springs.

It was surprising and disappointing that the bed was so poor, as the rest of the fittings and furnishings in the apartment are of such high quality.

We are delighted to hear that you liked the location and wonderful views from the apartment.
Regarding the mattresses, everybody has their own preference: some guests prefer a firm mattress, some prefer a soft mattress, and so on (- it is the same situation with pillows). We try to provide mattresses (& pillows) that are neither too firm nor too soft.
Thank you for suggestion about heating in the bathroom. We will investigate this for future winter bookings.

The garage lighting on the lowest level needs looking at as there is sometimes a long delay for it to activate and it's difficult to see where you are walking.

Apartment very clean, spacious and well equipped. Meet and greet service excellent and underground parking great. Regular towel changes and cleaning was much appreciated.
The apartment´s location couldn´t be better, being opposite beach and another superb beach 5 minutes walk to mini ferry. Restaurants, bars, shops and marina all within a 5 minute walk. a car is not necessary, but worth having if you want to visit other places e.g. Salema, Sagres, Portimao etc. There is also a train station fairly close by. Would thoroughly recommend this apartment to couples looking for a relaxing break in the sun.

The shower in the bathroom is quite difficult to deal with and due to small shower screen, bathroom floor often got very wet.

'Festa do Banho 29' (29 August) Please note that each year on 29 August Lagos celebrates the traditional 'Festa do Banho', which includes historical recreations, food and drinks, traditional swimwear parades and lots of musical entertainment. This is a great way to experience the local culture. The location for this event is usually on the beach directly opposite the block where this apartment is situated - which means that you will have a great view of the party and will be able to experience the wonderful atmosphere - but keep in mind that there will be loud music from the party. The 'Festa do Banho' takes place on 1 night only (29 August). However, other events may take place before that date. Please take this into consideration if you are intending to stay in this apartment at the end of August. Update January 2025: During 2025 there may be some minor maintenance works taking place around the common areas of the building where this apartment is located. These works – which are outside of our control - are essential for maintaining the high standard of the building and the surrounding area. We do not expect the works to cause excessive noise or disruption, or to have a negative impact on the enjoyment of your holiday.
